This fall we also welcomed Olivia (Liv) McGowan to the group who is starting her PhD in Physical Chemistry. She comes to the Ackerson Lab with a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Mathematics from Salve Regina University. While working out ideas for her own project, she has enjoyed gold nano-material synthesis–especially the kinetics for ligand exchange, and the physics underlying electron microscopy.
