Research Interests: Directed evolution of biomolecules. Currently developing an evolution platform to enable engineering of metal/metalloid reductase activity (‘Clonable Nanoparticle’ project). Long term, my goal is to engineer a library of Clonable Nanoparticles that selectively act upon varying metal/metalloid substrates. In turn, this may allow ‘colorful’ gene reporting in electron microscopy, analogous to the toolbox of fluorescent proteins available for fluorescence microscopies.
